I checked my SSS online a while ago to see the total contributions I have paid so far after 12 years as an employed member and 2 years as voluntary member. When I was logged in, I explored a bit until I came to Transactions menu. I was surprised when I saw Salary Loan Application link. I swear it wasn't there the last time I checked. That was a couple of months ago though. I was thinking, is it now possible to apply for salary loan online? That would be great, I said to myself. Not that I planned to take out a loan from SSS now or in the next few days but I thought it's a great step on SSS part to make members do select transactions online.
So, out of curiosity, I clicked on the link and the max amount I can loan was shown together with my home address where the check would be sent. There was an option to update my home address. Then towards the bottom was the Submit button.
I was thinking, is it REALLY possible to apply for salary loan online? Well, there's only one way to find out and it was to click the Submit button, right?
I clicked it, and lo and behold, a confirmation message that my loan application went through was displayed. I even received a confirmation email. Just like that. No more further instructions to go the office and fill up a form and sign it, show my SSS id and/or the transaction number. No, nothing.
Wow, I really thought that was not possible! But it is. And it's great. Just think about the long queue of members doing transactions in almost every SSS office everyday and you'll understand what I mean. It is now more convenient to apply for salary loan because it only takes an internet-connected PC.
Nice.
I just hope this convenience would not encourage members to take out a loan and spend it on things like shoes, bags, new cellphones, new TV, etc. I just hope they will spend it on more important things. Well, the word important is relative. What I'm saying is that I hope people will make use of their loan wisely.
Now, which TV brand I should buy? A shiny, new flat screen TV would look great in my living room. Oh, I almost forgot, I need to buy a new bag. What about that pair of shoe I saw at the mall the other day? I'd love to see myself wearing it.
Hahaha...just kidding. I'm thankful to God that we don't need to take out a loan for our needs. And our wants (and there's just a few of them). He provides. When my salary loan check arrives, I know where I'd spend it - buy more stocks. The stock market is down and the stocks are cheap. Did I say shopping is one of my favorite things? Yes, it is. Shopping for stocks to add to my portfolio.
Should I buy more ALI, or CEB, or MBT, or AP, or EDC, or FPH, or...

Hi, how many days did the loan arrive?
Hi, I also want to ask if how many days before the check arrived, just also tried online submission of loan application. Thanks!
Hi,
So far di ko pa nareceive till now yung check, dahil siguro may holidays tayo last week. Inquire ko sa local SSS branch namin tomorrow if andito na yung check. Oct 19 kasi nakalagay online na processed na, hopefully I'll get it na next week.
Thanks for the reply, anyway, same here, filed online last Nov 2, then check generated Nov. 4, still waiting when ko makukuha :) goodluck ;)
how many days makuha ang check?
how many days yong check pala nakuha tapos ng sign up ng loan?
sinubukan ko rin mag apply ng salary loan online. i checked the status of my loan application online din and after 3 days, i saw that it was approved. applied oct 29 (2am pa ha, heheheh) check generated nov 2, nareceive ko yung cheke nov 16. hassle free talaga. (hassle meaning pag aantay sa mahabang pila tapos yung makakausap mo pa ay ubod ng sungit at walang modo). AYOS!!!
Hi, just wanna share some updates, Nov 2 - submitted online,
Nov 4 - "Check Generated" status
Nov 21 - check delivered and received ;) hassle free loan application :D good luck!
HI,
Just to know if you're employed and file sss loan online is it possible to receive the cheque @ my employer address?
Hi guys,
Just encashed the check. Actually Nov 3 pa siya sa post office namin. I'm not sure kung bakit di pinadala sa akin kaagad. I had to go to the post office para kunin yung check. My check stayed and slept there for over a month! Only in the Philippines talaga.
As in hassle-free yung online SSS loan application nila. I'm so glad SSS is making the effort to provide convenient service online. Now you don't have to deal with masungit na SSS employees to submit and follow up your SSS loan.
For the above poster, if you are an employed member, your check will be delivered to your employer's address.
nag-apply din ako online kasi yung HR namin may sariling time. di ko sila maabutan and yung mga naka-OJT ay hindi authorized tumanggap ng loan application. so bale kung nag-apply ako ngayon kelan ko sya makukuha?
it really is so thankful to have loaning companies or orgs like this who's aim is to help others-in-need out there. Kudos for you! :)
sis chels,
my check was mailed in QC post office a week after I applied online. bale, i applied oct 17, check was released oct 19, then mailed oct 27.
@ chels,
mailed oct 24 pala sis. so bilis talaga. sa local post office lang namin na delay.
its really nice nga no hassle free to go sa SSS branch to apply, ganda nga via online, i also tried last Jan 5, 2012 and may confirmation/transaction number din ako natanggap via email but now Jan 9, 2012 i checked online wala pa im still monitor pa din..bakit ang mga sinasbi nyong date medyo mabilis ang process parang in 2days may check generated na agad?? hmmm..sa akin wala pa..email ss and they say just wait ang monitor via online..sana bukas may update na..cant wait to get my check..hehehe
Nice naman talaga, bad trip lang sa tagal ng delivery. Been calling the local post office for the check and yet more than a week na wala pa din to think na ung sss branch eh 5mins away lang sa post-office and ung office namin eh 10mins away from it... ang susungit pa ng mga taga-post office!
